Just went to the concert last night and what a show!. My fiance and I were stunned to find out just how good they sounded. I have been following The Storm in the absence of Journey and was hoping that Kevin would be the new lead singer. Well that has all changed. Steve Augeri is awesome!!! He has a great voice, not as good a Perry's younger days (Pre Escape) but far better then anything Perry has done since Frontiers. They announced that they are currently working on a new CD and that the release will be followed by a tour next year.
Neil Schon was truly amazing, Ross was solid, and Cain was fantastic. I especially thought he did a great job singing "Just the Same Way" and "Anytime. The band played selections from Infinity, Escape, Frontiers, as and Raised on Radio.
I thought it was strange that the band elected not to play anything from Trial by Fire but that didn't mean anything to me. It was a fantastic show and we cant wait for the CD and another tour.

The concert last nite was WOW!!!!!!! Of course, I am a Steve Perry Fan, and before going to the show was wishing he was there with Journey but after seeing the show last night, I would go again to see them!!!!! Steve Augueri is Great!!!!! He sounds so much like Perry, esp when he sang Faithfully, I just had tears in my eyes....The man looks great on stage!!!!!!!! Some of the songs they sang: Don't stop believen, Whell In the Skies, I'll be alright without you, Anyway You Want It, Who's Cryin Now, Lights, Open Arms,(in which they got a standing ovation for), Lovin Touchin, Squeezin,(in which five lucky fans where able to get on stage and sing with the band. I was nominated though was not pick as one of the five, as only five where pick from around fifty nominees).....The show was so good and I can't wait until they come back to Phoenix next year, as Steve A told the audience.....Dean, the new drummer played a kick butt solo on the drums..... As for Neal, Ross, & Jonathan they were better than ever....Neal did a guitar solo that was sooooooo good.... They also did O' Emmanuel, a Christmas tune for the fans, it was sung nicely... There were two encores, people just didn't want did to leave Phoenix,,,,They did say they were coming back next year sometime. I was dissappointed because only 8,000 seats were sold for the show that could of had 20,000 seats sold...I think that Journey fans should give Steve A a chance...He is not trying to be a Steve Perry!!! He is Genuine and Himself, and does a wonderful job of singing old Journey songs...and has a special way of doing it...My advise is to give him a chance and it sure won't be a letdown if you attend.. I even lost my voice at this concert, so I know it was damm good!!!!!! I spoke to a worker at AWA, who told me that alot of fans were skeptical out here of going to see Journey because Perry wasn't going to be there...well, like I send in the beginning I felt that way, though I stood in line the day the tickets went on sale!!!!! Thanks to your website and others, where I read reviews of each concert so far and I knew it was a concert that would be remembered...SO YOU FANS OUT THERE, PLEASE GO SEE THE NEW JOURNEY AND YOU WON'T BE DISSAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!
Remember Me was also sung and done beautifully....Yes, I do miss Perry and can't wait until he tours again solo...
