Stephanie Lambert:
Steve Augeri was absolutely wonderful. Had a different style of singing but you will get that with any new singer. Each person has their own way of singing. Can't criticize them for that, can you??
Since I have never seen Journey in concert with Steve P., I can't compare the differences. The concert on Nov. 20th. was pure magic for me. I grew up listening to them.
Steve A. had the moves and the voice. If Journey (Neal and company)wanted Steve P. to move the way he did, no wonder Steve P. quit. Augeri didn't miss a beat with any of the songs. Dean was fantastic on drums. He has plenty of energy to keep up with the pace of the Journey songs. On the drum solo, he would stop, cheers from the crowd, and he would start up again.
I will say again, I could not find a single wrong with the concert. _IN MY MIND_, STEVE PERRY WAS NOT MISSED!!!!!
At one point toward the end of the concert, with some of the crowd up front dancing to the songs, my husband replied "This isn't a concert, this is a party!" I looked around and silently agreed. The entire night was magical and completely enjoyable. Worth every penny. Would have paid to see them again, and will when they come back to promote the new album.
