I am originally from "South Detroit" and have seen Journey many times (4) through the 70's and 80's. Imagine my surprise when I fell upon a sight that indicated they would be playing here in Atlanta. My wife and I have been singing and dancing to Journey throughout. The release of the album "Trial by Fire" was an answer from above.
Wonderful. Simple and precise. Steve A. hit every note and sang to my amazement like Perry. In fact myself and wife did not know that the Journey members were replaced. We thought maybe Perry had gotten a perm. I gotta tell ya we were very satisfied. We simply "loved" Steve Perry, his vocal skills and showmanship were beyond compare.
But, after seeing this concert I know Journey is in good hands. My wife and I have "Open Arms" for them.. Kudos!

I saw Journey in concert last Wednesday night. I was quite impressed. To be honest, I didnt want to like Augeri. I wanted him to screw up. But he didnt. He rocked all the songs. His voice is very smooth in the high end. I dont think the crowd was dissapointed either. They seemed to respond really well. I think a lot of them didnt realize that the vocalist was a different person. Twelve years is plenty of time for people to loose touch. Augeri is a fine vocalist and Deen Castronovo is very much able to fill Steve Smiths shoes. At least when it comes to the Journey position. I still dont know that I like Augeri better than Perry, but this Journey is a hundred times better than no Journey at all. I am excited to hear what they will write with this new line up.
