August 6, 1999


Sadly Deen has sprained his wrist during a fall and is unable to play. Foreigner's drummer, Brian Tich, played in Deen's place for the Reno show on Wednesday. Jonathan's brother, Mugs, will sit in for Deen until he's able to play again. Thanks to Jeff Hacker, Sean, and Joe Sousa.

August 9, 1999


Deen is now behind the drums again, playing last night in his home town Salem, Oregon. Jonathan's brother, Mugs, played drums for the two shows on Friday (Cardwell, MT) and Saturday (George, WA). Thanks to Paul Bonrud and Brianne Beazley.

Steve Smith sent me the latest Steve Smith / Vital Information Newsletter. In it he talks about the Modern Drummer Festival and the New Zealand/ Australia tour. He also mentions the upcoming CD Buddy’s Buddies to be released on September 21st, recording three songs with Savage Garden, and their plans to record a new VI CD in the fall, plus the live album recorded on the recent tour.

Kevin Chalfant will be performing on August 20th at LaSalle Fest (west of Chicago, IL) with Josh Ramos. Thanks to Moni.
