Lora sent me another update on Steve Perry:
I spoke with Steve Perry last night who wanted to let everyone know he
has begun doing interviews this week. He will be doing many radio
interviews but does not have a list of when and where as they are coming
in randomly from all over. He has done an interview with Rolling Stone
on line (yesterday) but doesn't know when they will post it on their
site. He has also talked with several newspapers (Detroit, Hanford,
Fresno, etc) so keep an eye out in your arts or weekend entertainment
sections. He's doing well and looking forward to the release of his GH
CD.

Below is Billboard Magazine review of Steve's first single from his Greatest Hits CD. Thanks to Cindy.
STEVE PERRY: When You're In Love (For The First Time) (3:45)
PRODUCERS: Steve Perry, Randy Goodrum
WRITERS: S. Perry, R. Goodrum
PUBLISHERS: Street Talk Tunes/California Phase, ASCAP
Columbia 41638 (CD promo)
Perry previews his "Greatest Hits + Five Unreleased" with this calypso-flavored
ode to the joy of first love that should make longtime fans smile. As always,
his voice is instantly recognizable and in fact sounds refreshed in the context
of this buoyant number, which plays like a day amid sun and sand. Even so,
there are no guarantees that radio will pick up on the song, given even AC
radio's inclination to favor individual songs over embracing longtime artists
of the format. That said, you can't ignore the success of comparable artist
Phil Collins' "True Colors" at AC, so never say never.
Remember, if you have any reviews or pictures from the current Vacation's Over tour, please e-mail me at sdlake@sympatico.ca and I will post them to my web page for other fans to read.
