You can now view Steve Perry's video for "I Stand Alone" on Atlantic Records web site. The video has been sent to VH-1, although they have not played it yet. Thanks to Bill Austin.

Here is an updated press release approved by Steve Perry, Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon (sent to me again by Lora Beard):

SINGER, STEVE PERRY AND JOURNEY OFFICIALLY GO THEIR "SEPARATE WAYS"

In January 1998, a conversation between Jonathan Cain and Steve Perry took place. The conclusion of which was that if Steve Perry’s health issues would not allow him to commit to a tour at that time, then Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon would reform with a new singer. Drummer, Steve Smith is also no longer with the group.

Perry became the lead singer of Journey in 1977 and, over the past two decades, sang on the group’s 10 platinum-plus albums including the 1996 Trial By Fire CD. Journey, with Steve Perry as vocalist, have sold over 45 million records worldwide. Steve Perry has currently worked with David Foster and Carole Bayer-Sager in writing and recording the title track "I Stand Alone" for the soundtrack in the animated feature "Quest For Camelot."

Journey is currently comprised of new lead singer Steve Augeri, original guitarist Neal Schon, bassist Ross Valory, keyboardist Jonathan Cain (a 1981 addition) and new drummer Deen Castronovo (formerly of Bad English - the 80’s super-group which also featured Schon and Cain). The new Journey lineup has already recorded "Remember Me" a track for the soundtrack for the upcoming summer blockbuster film Armageddon. "Remember Me" was written by Neal Schon and Jack Blades and was produced by Kevin Shirley (who also produced Trial By Fire). The Armageddon soundtrack will be released by Columbia Records on June 30th.

Plans for a new Journey album, as well as a summer tour of Japan and a subsequent tour of the States, are in the works.

I have made changes to my current message board. It was still in the testing stage and I did not officially open it, but most of all I was intending it to be a posting board for actual NEWS and not discussions and opinions. Therefore, I have separated it into two message boards.

SPEAKERS CORNER
The first message board, Speaker's Corner, is for fans who want to discuss opinions, chat, and express their feelings surrounding the departure of Steve Perry. I promise to monitor the message board this time (or find someone to help). Luckily enough I was able to save all the previous messages.

JOURNEY NEWS FIRST
The second is a posting board is for NEWS only. If you obtained information from radio, magazines, etc, please post it here for other fans to read. I hope to make it easier for people to post here instead of e-mailing me.

For guitar fans, Chris Choncek sent me the tablature for Stone in Love. I would really like to add more to the tablature section. If there are any guitar fans with extra time (and the knowledge), please take the time to transcribe a song that other fans may want to learn to play. Thanks.

ChrisP's Holy Shrine of Journey is back on-line. It contains great links, rare graphics, and in the future she hopes to scan Journey articles.

In the past I have mentioned about a great on-line auction site called eBay online Auctions . Check it out. I've been a member for over a year and I am really amazed at all the Journey memorabilia available. Usually there are about 15 Journey items auctioned on any given day.
