At the AOR & Hard Rock Hot Spot, Irving Azoff finally releases official information on Journey's current status.I spoke with Journey Management last week, but as usual they told me absolutely nothing. Thanks to Soave Nick, Geoff Gause, and Mark for informing me about the update. And of course, Andrew for actually obtaining the information.
- Steve is still not fit to tour, therefore there is no sense to start work on a new album unless they can tour to promote it.
- Steve Perry has been recording with David Foster for a Warner Bros. animated movie, The Quest.
- Ross and Steve Smith have been playing abroad (Europe).
- Neal is working on a blues album and Jonathan is helping him.

An update on the upcoming movie, The Quest. The real title is The Quest for Camelot. According to the Internet Movie Database it is scheduled to be released in May 1998, and has voices by Pierce Brosnan, Cary Elwes, Eric Idle, Gary Oldman, Jane Seymour, and music by David Foster. Disappointing news: Neal will not be honored by The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the other members of Santana, because he was not an original member of the band. Gregg Rolie, an original member of Santana, will be one of the six members to be inducted in to the Hall of Fame in January. Thanks to Gina for the information.
Hearing that news, Amanda, from the Neal Schon Project, has started a petition for people to sign and express their thoughts to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. Sign it NOW!!!

MTV On-line has news on Journey, Steve Perry, and the rest of the band."It appears that Eddie Van Halen (Edward to his friends) at least for the time being has avoided hip surgery, but Journey singer Steve Perry may not be so lucky.Journey manager Irving Azoff told Australian journalist Andrew McNeice that Perry's hip is not healing with therapy and that he will have to have an operation before he can tour. And with Perry unable to tour to support a CD release, the band is also not recording."
