I have heard rumors that Steve Perry has recorded a song with country singer Garth Brooks. I have no other information other than that someone posted the news to the AOL Message Board. Thanks to Michael Wolff and Mary Smith.

I have received reports that Sony Music's message board is no longer operational. I have no idea why it is not working. They've had problems in the past and eventually fixed their problems. Possibly it might be up and running later this week.

There is a new Journey web site, designed by Heather Roche, called Journey Fan Art. It includes Journey art work, poems, photographs, and stories created by fans.

Mark Armentrout has also put together his own Journey page, which includes the History of Journey.

Jeff Hacker has informed me about an amazing on-line auction web site, eBay online Auctions which auctions anything you can think of---including Journey memorabilia. I search it everyday and find somethhing new--from Journey t-shirts, CDs, the atari game, autographs, and tourbooks.

Get your VCR's ready. The making of USA for Africa (We Are The World) is scheduled to air on VH-1, Sunday, August 17th, at 4 p.m. (EST). Thanks to Michele Hildebrand.

Neal Schon and Optek Music System, Inc. are in the early planning stages to release an interactive guitar CD-ROM sometime early next year. Also, in the works is "Neal's Underground Music Shop," presumably an official web site. Thanks to Naoki Hamajima and the Neal Schon Home Page.

Gail sent me this message (originally posted on the AOL Message Board) it is believed to be from Neal Schon (although still unconfirmed):

"Soon very soon you will get your tour info, and we will also give you all another album late this fall." Rockdog

Scott Sullivan, from The Storm WWW Page, has a new exclusive interview with Gregg Rolie where they talk about Abraxas Pool.

Well, it turns out that the message posted on AOL (supposedly from Neal) was an impostor.

I made minor changes to the layout of my main page again. I was testing with 'frames,' but after setting everything up I didn't like it. Aside from rearranging the links on the side bar, I added one new feature to the Tribute Page: The Journey Collectables Center. It's sort of a posting board where you can leave messages about collectables (bootlegs). A lot of fans ask me about audio and videos, so this--hopefully--will be a good resource to trade Journey stuff.

Andrew, from The AOR Hard Rock Hot Spot, still hasn't heard back from Journey Management or Steve Perry about interviewing the lead singer. I called Journey Management last week, but Irving Azoff was out of town (again) and there was no new information.

Country singer Collin Raye has recorded a cover single of Open Arms, which was recently released to radio stations. The song will appear on his upcoming CD, Direct Hits, due out this Tuesday, August 26th. Thanks to Venus.

Some news from radio stations across the United States: 95.5 KKHK Denver announced that Journey has started work on a new album, while several stations on the east coast said that the album will be released in November. I, of course, called Journey Management, but again I got no information. Thanks to Blake and Kevin.

Good news, bad news, good news: Andrew, from The AOR Hard Rock Hot Spot, finally heard back Irving Azoff about interviewing Steve Perry. Unfortunately Steve is unable to be interviewed at this time. However, Irving agreed to be interviewed by him. So, next week we should have some information on what has been happening with Journey over the past year and hopefully some information on any future plans. Thanks to Diane, Mike, and Joseph.
