The release of the single "When You Love A Woman" has been pushed back to October 8th.

October 10, 1996

The new CD single "When You Love A Woman" is finally available in stores. It also includes the other new song "Message of Love" and the newly remastered version of "Open Arms."

October 15, 1996

Trial By Fire is now available in the UK. The album will be available in Japan tomorrow (Oct. 16), in the United States next week (Oct. 22), and in Canada a week after that (Oct. 29). Also, today Sony Music (US) released the re-mastered CD's of all Steve Perry era albums (Infinity, Evolution, Departure, Captured, Escape, Frontiers, Raised On Radio, and Street Talk). Unfortunately the single will not be released in Canada and the re-mastered CD's will not be available until Oct. 29.

October 18, 1996

When You Love A Woman debuted at #17 on Billboard Magainze's Hot 100 Singles for October 26, 1996.

Sony Music has released a free Journey screensaver available for both Windows and Macintosh.

In their October 25th issue, Entertainment Weekly reviews the new album and gives it a 'C' rating. When (and if) available I will link to the article from Entertainment Weekly Online.

A few weeks ago Billboard Magazine mentioned that Hard Rock Cafe's (in the US) will participate in "launch parties the night before at all 26 Hard Rock Cafes nationwide." Over the past week fans have contacted their local HRC, but most of them were unaware of the celebrations. Call your local Hard Rock Cafe to see they are participating in the parties. October 22, 1996

Trial By Fire is now available in the United States and includes 14 new songs plus one hidden CD track "Baby I'm Leaving You."

Sony Music updated their Journey page again and the new layout is marvelous. The page now has sound samples of all previous Journey/Steve Perry songs. Eventually it will also list their tour information, latest news, and a place to e-mail the band.

October 29, 1996

Today I spoke with Journey manager, Irving Azoff. He says Steve Perry is still recovering from his hip injury (suffered while rock climbing several weeks ago). In two weeks Steve will visit the doctor again for an update on the injury. If his prognosis is good they hope to start filming the first promotional (MTV) video for When You Love A Woman. Also, they'll look into planning the tour, which won't start until April at the earliest. BTW, the album sold 145,000 copies in its first week and debuted at #3 on the Billboard charts.

Trial By Fire is finally available in Canada!!!.

FYI, to listen to the hidden CD track, "Baby I'm Leaving You," after the last song "Trial By Fire" don't stop the CD player. In about 15 seconds the hidden track will start playing. You can also use the "CD skip" function to skip to the last track.

Also, FYI the bonus track "I Can See It In Your Eyes," which is available on the Japanese release only, is a rocker and not another ballad.
