The final results for the creation of the newsgroup rec.music.artists.journey were released and... AAARRRGGGGGHH, it DID NOT PASS.

"There were 129 YES votes and 41 NO votes, for a total of 170 valid votes. There was 1 abstain and 4 invalid ballots. For group passage, YES votes must be at least 2/3 of all valid (YES and NO) votes. There also must be at least 100 more YES votes than NO votes."

Only 129 votes? What happened to everyone?

Although the proposal for rec.music.artists.journey failed there is now another new Journey newsgroup alt.music.journey. Unfortunately alt.music.journey may not be available by all Internet Providers. If the new newsgroup is presently not listed on your system, ask your Internet Provider to add it to their list so you can subscribe.

April 18, 1996

On a recording by Steve Perry (via Steve Perry Info Network 415-597-6633), Steve acknowledges Journey is in the process of finishing writing new songs. He also said Journey still has not decided if they should record a new album or tour first. You can listen to the pre-recorded message by calling the above number.

The Legendary Sy Klopps Blues Band will be perfoming in San Rafael, California, at New George's on Saturday April 20. The Legendary Sy Klopps Blues Band features ex-Journey manager Herbie Herbert on vocals and guitar.

On May 13, Steve Smith will be doing a drum clinic at Santa Clara University (in California) as a guest appearance for Santa Clara University Jazz Band.

Special thanks to Tico who researched and finally discovered how to obtain the picture book "Journey" by Robyn Flans, which was originally released in 1984.

The book is available from a distributor of Cherry Lane Books at 1-800-637-2852. The book retails for $4.95 (US), plus $2.50 s/h. Last time I heard they did't have very many copies remaining, if any at all.
